Why teams switch

Capture faster.
Evidence properly.
Report instantly.

Surveyors switch when the gap between the site visit and the finished report stops costing them evenings.

Pain point
On-site capture
built for site conditions.
The full survey form on desktop becomes a guided step-by-step flow on a phone or tablet — type, element, rating, substrate, services and tested system, one step at a time, gloves on.
  • Guided capture stepper on phones and tablets
  • Pick-lists you control — defect reasons, substrates, services
  • Works offline; syncs when back online
Pain point
Evidence
at the point of work.
On a survey you photograph each seal as found; when you install or re-seal, capture before, during and after — the during-photo is the proof a finished seal hides. Either way it is attached to the right penetration, with a defect reason and recommended action on anything that fails.
  • As-found (or before / during / after on new work) photos per item
  • Defect reason required on every fail
  • Recommended action recorded for the remediation team
Pain point
Survey report
without the rebuild.
The branded PDF is generated from the same record you captured on — penetration schedule, photos, findings and tested-system evidence. No retyping, no spreadsheet rebuild, no Sunday evening formatting.
  • Branded survey report straight from live data
  • Report lands in the client portal on completion
  • CSV register export for the property
"Does it work offline on site?" Yes — capture and sync when you have signal again.
"Can I customise the defect reasons?" Yes — the capture pick-lists are yours to edit in Settings.
"Do I need a card to try it?" No card required. Start the trial online.

Quick questions

About the survey app,

Browse full FAQ
How does on-site capture work on a phone? Platform
The capture flow becomes a guided stepper on phones and tablets — one step at a time through location, type, element, rating, substrate, services, tested system, outcome and photos. Designed for one-handed use in risers and plant rooms.
Does fire stopping survey capture work offline? Platform
Yes. Log penetrations, photograph each seal as found (or before / during / after when you install or re-seal) and record outcomes with no signal — everything syncs the moment you are back in coverage. Risers, basements and plant rooms rarely have good reception, so the capture flow is built for it.
What does each penetration record? Platform
Reference and location, the penetration type (seal, linear joint or cavity barrier), the element and required rating it sits in, substrate, opening size, annular gap and seal depth, the services passing through, the tested system used, as-found (or before/during/after) photos, and the outcome with a defect reason where it fails.
Can I customise the defect reasons and pick-lists? Platform
Yes. Defect reasons, substrates, service types, required ratings, certification bodies and test standards are all editable in Settings — sensible UK defaults are built in, and your changes flow straight into the capture form.
What happens on a re-survey? Platform
Scan the QR tag on the seal and you are looking at that penetration’s record — history, photos and previous findings attached. A re-survey logs new findings against the same register, so per-item history builds visit on visit.
Why is fire stopping inside Fire Door App? Platform
Because the teams doing this work usually handle both. Fire Stopping is a full workspace on the same platform — same login, same clients and team, switched from the top bar — with its own property records and penetration register, so neither trade clutters the other.
Do I need a card to start the trial? Trial
No card required. Start the trial online and begin running fire-stopping surveys straight away. You only need payment details if you choose to move to a paid plan after the trial.
How long is the trial and what is included? Trial
The trial lasts 7 days and gives you full access to the platform — surveys, the penetration register, defects, tested systems, RAMs, the client portal and exports. There is no feature restriction, and the fire-door workspace is included on the same account.
How much does it cost after the trial? Trial
On the usage plan it is £0.75 per penetration logged — survey report PDFs are free, and RAMs PDFs are £0.75. Or choose a Seat plan from £29/month with no usage charges at all. One subscription covers both the Fire Stopping and Fire Doors workspaces. See full pricing →
What happens to my data if I do not continue? Trial
You can export your penetration register, survey data and documents as PDFs or CSVs at any point. Your data is always yours — we don't lock it behind a paid plan. See our privacy policy for retention details.
Is this a compliance guarantee? Compliance
No. Fire Door App supports fire-stopping survey workflows and evidence retention — it does not certify systems or installations, provide legal advice, or guarantee regulatory compliance. You remain responsible for ensuring work meets applicable standards. Read our compliance notes →
How often does fire stopping need to be inspected? Compliance
There is no fixed statutory re-inspection interval for fire stopping. The duty is risk-based maintenance, plus a re-check after any works that breach a compartment — the cadence is set by the Responsible Person. Set your own reminder intervals and the system chases the re-survey for you.
