Two modules, one subscription EU hosted Built inside a working fire door company
Pricing the work

Quotes built from the findings, not from a blank page.

Each line on the quote is a remedial, priced against your own default rates and quote-item mapping. RAMS are generated against the job rather than written out again — and a quote that goes quiet gets chased on your own schedule.

02What it does

In this area, Fire Door App can:

  • Price a quote directly from the failures recorded on site, at your own rates
  • Map a component and failure reason to a priced item once, then let every future quote price itself
  • Configure a new fire door from twenty-one presets and over two hundred options, with a live diagram
  • Export the quote-item mapping to CSV, edit it in a spreadsheet, and import it back
  • Override any line on a quote when a client or a job is the exception, with the change recorded rather than applied silently
  • Send a quote to the client portal for the client to approve themselves
  • Chase quotes that go quiet on your own schedule, and stop the moment one is answered
  • Mark a quote sent, accepted or declined by hand, when the answer arrived by phone
  • Generate RAMS against the job, from a hazard template matched to the kind of work
  • Turn an approved quote into a scheduled job, and then an invoice
  • Take a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount
03How it runs

The way this actually works on a job.

  1. 01

    Set your rates once

Default rates and a fire-door rate card, entered once, plus the mapping that says which finding becomes which quoted item. That mapping travels as a CSV, so the long tail can be priced in a spreadsheet.

    Default ratesQuote-item mappingCSV round-trip
  2. 02

    Price the findings

Remedial lines become quoted lines at your rates. Override anything that needs a human judgement — the override is recorded, not silently applied.

    From remedialsOverrides recorded
  3. 03

    Quote a whole doorset

When the answer is replacement rather than repair, Door Quoting prices the doorset, the ironmongery and the fitting as one thing.

  4. 04

    Send, chase, convert

The client approves it in their portal. Quotes that go quiet are chased automatically, and an approved quote becomes a scheduled job and then an invoice — with nothing re-entered.

04What’s in it

The parts you will use every week.

Quote-item mapping

Decide once what a given failure is worth, and every future quote prices it the same way.

Line overrides

Change any priced line on any quote where the job is the exception. The change is recorded, not silent.

RAMS for fire doors

Risk assessment and method statement generated against the job and attached to it.

RAMs for fire stopping

The same idea in the fire stopping workspace, in that module’s own spelling.

Quote chasing

Reminders on your schedule until the client answers, then they stop by themselves.

CSV in and out

Bring a rate card in from a spreadsheet; take the quote back out as CSV whenever you want it.

05The output

What comes out of it

A quote here is a document and a state — it knows whether it has been answered, and what it turns into once it has.

Quote PDF
A line per remedial, each referencing the door or penetration that raised it
Portal quote
The same quote, approvable by the client without an account
RAMS / RAMs
Generated against the job, in each module’s own spelling
Rate card
Yours, imported from CSV and applied everywhere
Chase emails
Automatic reminders until it is answered
Invoice
Raised from the approved quote with its lines intact — the same figures the client agreed
Deposit
Taken as a percentage or a fixed amount when the job needs one
06 Quick questions

Questions this area gets asked.

Q01

Can we use our own rates rather than a fixed catalogue?

Yes — default rates, a fire-door rate card and quote-item mapping are all yours, and can be imported from a CSV you already maintain. See the CSV workflow →
Q02

Does the client need an account to approve a quote?

No. They approve it in the client portal, and portal access is never billed as a seat.
Q03

Are RAMS actually generated, or is it a template to fill in?

Generated against the job from what the work is, then attached to it. Fire doors use "RAMS" and fire stopping uses "RAMs" — each module keeps its own spelling.
Q04

Do we have to retype the quote to invoice it?

No. An accepted quote becomes a scheduled job and then an invoice, carrying its lines and figures through, so the client is billed exactly what they approved. Add a pay-now link, record part payments as they land, and let the paid status reach your accounting platform. See invoicing & payments →
