Compartmentation, in its own workspace.
Fire stopping is not fire doors with different words. It has its own register, its own tested systems, its own defects board and its own reports — so it gets its own workspace, switched from the top bar, on the same subscription.

See a fire stopping survey from site to report.
Log penetrations against their tested system, photograph as-found and after, and produce the survey report and register from the same record.
What you will see
Capture penetrations on site against tested systems, log defects with photos, and produce a survey report — the fire stopping workflow end to end.
One of several short walkthroughs — each a real workflow, start to finish. See all walkthroughs →
In this area, Fire Door App can:
- Survey existing fire stopping and record new installation or remediation work, as separate work types
- Register penetration seals, linear joints and cavity barriers against walls, floors and ceilings
- Capture as-found photographs on a survey, and before, during and after on an installation
- Record pass, fail, defective, N/A or no access — with a mandatory reason whenever there is no access
- Pick from thirteen default defect reasons, or write your own
- Hold a tested-systems register carrying the certification body, reference, test standard and expiry date
- Choose from a catalogue of thirty-nine tested products — sealants, collars, batts, boards, compounds, mortars and cavity barriers
- Warn you before a tested system’s certification expires
- Run a defects board with five statuses, bulk updates and restore
- Print QR tags for penetrations and scan them on site
- Build fire stopping RAMs from a survey or from a defect
- Capture offline in its own vault, syncing separately from fire doors
Fire stopping is not an upsell tier. It is a second workspace on the same subscription, sharing your clients, properties and team.
The way this actually works on a job.
-
01
Survey the compartment
Every penetration gets an ID, a location, photographs and the tested system it references. Capture offline in the riser, tag it on the floorplan, print a QR label so the next visit finds it.
-
02
Rate it honestly
Record the rating achieved against the rating required, so a shortfall is a fact on the record rather than a note in somebody’s head. Passing penetrations read as passing; failing ones raise a defect.
-
03
Work the defects board
Defects are assigned to a person and a date and worked to close-out, each still pointing back at the penetration and the photograph that raised it.
-
04
Issue and get paid
Survey report, per-penetration reports, RAMs against the job, a CSV of the register — then the quote and the invoice, exactly as on the fire door side.
The parts you will use every week.
Tested systems catalogue
Reference the system a penetration was installed to, so the report says what it was built to rather than what it looked like.
Defects board
The fire stopping equivalent of remedials: assigned, dated, and closed out with evidence.
Work-type split
A survey visit and an install or remediation visit are different jobs with different outputs, and the workspace keeps them apart.
Certificate expiry warnings
Surfaced before they lapse, so a renewal is planned rather than discovered.
Per-penetration reports
One penetration, its history, its photographs and its rating — for the times a single line is the whole question.
Shared clients and team
The same client, property and team records as the fire door workspace. One company, not two systems.
What comes out of it
A compartmentation survey produces its own document set, carrying your own terms.
- Survey report
- PDF, typically 13 pages, with the penetration register and its photographs
- Per-penetration report
- A single penetration, in full
- Penetration register export
- CSV of every penetration, system and rating
- RAMs
- Generated against the job — note the fire stopping spelling
- Evidence pack
- Per closed defect, with certificates
- Certificate warnings
- Surfaced in the workspace before expiry

Q01
Is fire stopping charged separately?
Q02
How do we move between the two?
Q03
Do surveys capture offline like inspections?
Survey one riser. See the report it makes.
Capture a handful of penetrations against their tested systems and generate the survey report. The trial covers both workspaces, with nothing held back.
