Why teams switch

Less admin.
Cleaner evidence.
Faster sign-off.

Teams switch when fire-stopping evidence stops surviving the journey from site to spreadsheet to report.

Pain point
Less admin
after every survey.
Photos, outcomes and penetration details stay attached to the same record on site — so the office is not rebuilding the survey from notes, WhatsApp messages and a separate spreadsheet.
  • Findings captured on the penetration, not transcribed later
  • As-found (or before / during / after on new work) photos attached to the right item
  • Defect notes flow into the PDF without retyping
Pain point
A register
that persists per property.
Every seal, linear joint and cavity barrier is a persistent record tied to the building — repeat surveys add to the same item instead of starting from scratch. When an auditor asks for evidence, you produce it in minutes.
  • Property-scoped penetration register
  • Repeat surveys build per-item history
  • Tested-system evidence linked to every seal
  • PDF and CSV exports on demand
Pain point
Client-ready
PDF in minutes.
Generate a branded survey report straight from the live survey data — the item schedule, photos and findings in one pack. It lands in the client portal automatically when the survey completes.
  • Branded survey report generated from live data
  • Report shared to the client portal on completion
  • Client Portal access never billed as seats
"Does it work offline on site?" Yes — capture and sync when you have signal again.
"Does it certify fire stopping?" No — your records reference the manufacturer’s tested system evidence.
"Do I need a card to try it?" No card required. Start the trial online.

Quick questions

About the fire stopping software,
before you trial.

Short answers to common questions from fire-stopping teams. More detail in the full FAQ.

Browse full FAQ
Does fire stopping survey capture work offline? Platform
Yes. Log penetrations, photograph each seal as found (or before / during / after when you install or re-seal) and record outcomes with no signal — everything syncs the moment you are back in coverage. Risers, basements and plant rooms rarely have good reception, so the capture flow is built for it.
What can the penetration register track? Platform
Penetration seals, linear joints and cavity barriers — each held per property with its location, the element and required rating it sits in, the substrate, opening geometry, the services running through it, and the tested system used to seal it.
Can multiple surveyors work on the same site? Platform
Yes. Add as many surveyors and managers as you need. Each user has their own login and the penetration register stays consistent across the team. Permissions are configurable by role. On the usage plan there are no seat charges at all — you pay per penetration, not per user; on a seat plan every active user counts.
Does it do floorplans and QR tags? Platform
Yes. Upload a floor plan per level and pin each penetration to its location, then print a QR tag for the seal — scanning it on the next visit jumps straight to that item with its history and photos attached.
What does the survey report PDF look like? Platform
It is branded with your logo, includes the penetration schedule with as-found (or before/during/after) photos, defect reasons and recommended actions, plus the tested-system evidence appendix. See the full workspace on the Fire Stopping platform page.
Why is fire stopping inside Fire Door App? Platform
Because the teams doing this work usually handle both. Fire Stopping is a full workspace on the same platform — same login, same clients and team, switched from the top bar — with its own property records and penetration register, so neither trade clutters the other.
Do I need a card to start the trial? Trial
No card required. Start the trial online and begin running fire-stopping surveys straight away. You only need payment details if you choose to move to a paid plan after the trial.
How long is the trial and what is included? Trial
The trial lasts 7 days and gives you full access to the platform — surveys, the penetration register, defects, tested systems, RAMs, the client portal and exports. There is no feature restriction, and the fire-door workspace is included on the same account.
How much does it cost after the trial? Trial
On the usage plan it is £0.75 per penetration logged — survey report PDFs are free, and RAMs PDFs are £0.75. Or choose a Seat plan from £29/month with no usage charges at all. One subscription covers both the Fire Stopping and Fire Doors workspaces. See full pricing →
What happens to my data if I do not continue? Trial
You can export your penetration register, survey data and documents as PDFs or CSVs at any point. Your data is always yours — we don't lock it behind a paid plan. See our privacy policy for retention details.
Is this a compliance guarantee? Compliance
No. Fire Door App supports fire-stopping survey workflows and evidence retention — it does not certify systems or installations, provide legal advice, or guarantee regulatory compliance. You remain responsible for ensuring work meets applicable standards. Read our compliance notes →
How often does fire stopping need to be inspected? Compliance
There is no fixed statutory re-inspection interval for fire stopping. The duty is risk-based maintenance, plus a re-check after any works that breach a compartment — the cadence is set by the Responsible Person. Set your own reminder intervals and the system chases the re-survey for you.
